The first product of Hamza's life in Japan, Songs of the Nile finds him revisiting earlier compositions with fresh ears, as well as continuing to look forward, as with his distinctive interpretation of the music of Tatyos Efendi, the Greek Armenian composer whose work is integral to much Turkish and Arabic classical music.
